The evidence for both editions
Earlier Dungeons II trailers establish the dimension in the spin-off game. The separate September 26 Xbox Wire announcement is the evidence used here for Java & Bedrock. The date matters: a later recap is not needed to support this conclusion.
The announced window is 2027. Treat videos of the current Dungeons II build as previews of the world’s direction, not proof of the final Minecraft sandbox implementation.

Checking a supposed vanilla release
Look for edition-specific release notes from Mojang and a matching version in the launcher. Distinguish stable releases from experimental previews, Marketplace content, resource packs and Java mods.
A working fan implementation can be interesting on its own. It does not need to be labelled an official update to be worth exploring. Our community mod page keeps that boundary explicit.
